In late March 2025, Chexy made a big splash by expanding its offerings allowing for new opportunities for sustainable earning - supporting credit card payment of personal taxes and multiple new types of payment methods for bills. Since then I've been hard at work with them to launch physician specific offerings and promotional bonuses. As we expand these services I want to go over some use cases that can be helpful for Docs signing up, in this article we will be going over CMPA, in the next we will go over some tricks for simplifying variable payments and different payment frequencies.

As always you can find more Referral information and Disclaimers at the end of the article.

Signing up
Sign up via exclusive referral link will flag your account as potential Physician or Dentist. You'll be contacted by Chexy support to verify your eligibility (think license info), and upon doing so you'll be eligible for 15,000 AP points if you verify your account and process at least $15k in payments by September 15th (CRA installment date!). This is in addition to the currently available new account offer shown below

AND this is in addition to the points you'll earn on whichever card you use, imagine if you're using this to get a big sign up bonus!
CMPA
Depending on the province you're in your CMPA bills might be pretty high, typically speaking they only support PAD monthly/annual or Bill Pay annual - Chexy changes that and makes it a point earning opportunity.

Monthly payments - PAD or Pre-authorized Debit
Confirm your current CMPA payment
You can see I was paying $950/mo on the 20th Log into your Chexy account and click New recurring payment, then select Insurance, then Pre-Authorized Debit
Fill in the Payee information
Payee Name - CMPA
Payee Email - inquiries@cmpa.org
Payee Phone number - 1-800-267-6522
Payee Address - 875 Carling Ave Suite 323, Ottawa, ON K1S 5P1
This will generate a "void cheque" of information
Log into your CMPA, and select the pencil next to payment options
Enter the payment info from chexy

If you'd rather pay your CMPA all at once, maybe to hit a big sign up bonus like the current Amex cobranded card bonuses, you can instead use PAD as above or bill pay where you can just select CMPA from the drop down list. In either case I suggest you message CMPA to request a confirmation of your statement of account as you'll have to pay the full remaining amount - that said CMPA informed me that they would refund an overpayment if one occured.

Is it worth it?
You may or may not have seen my previous articles about how to maximize the value you get from a lump sum or ongoing payments through Chexy - in many cases it was already an amazingly powerful tool to harvest rewards from expenses that typically generate none. But now with the rollout of Chexy for Docs we get bonus points, a green light to use Chexy for more business expenses (office rent/overhead, cmpa, etc), and early access to potential additional opportunities. Crunching the numbers, an Ontario OB paying their CMPA payments of ~$5k/mo could earn:
Chexy promo
2k AP points for initial payment
5k AP points for first $5k
15k AP points for first $15k (if verified as an MD after signing up for their account here)
Earn on spend
Depending on the card they use they could earn ~15-20k Aeroplan, Avion, Amex or other points
The transaction fee for these payments would be $15k*1.75% =$262.5
Paying a business expense fee of $262.5 to earn ~40k points with a mean value of $800? YES PLEASE
Even better if they didn't already have a good card for this, they could sign up for one and get a sign up bonus on top of it all. This could add 50-200k in additional points depending. Not sure what card to pick? You can check out our card comparison tool, my favourites are the Business Platinum, Business Aeroplan Reserve, and Business Avion Visa Infinite. These cards all earn 1.25x of a highly valuable point useful for aspirational business class travel.
You could also reach out to chat about the current best offers (including unlisted ones) and what fits for your situation.
What if our OB friend was a big Aeroplan fan and decided to open the Business Aeroplan Reserve with its current elevated sub. Provided they did a year of CMPA through Chexy and had ~1k/mo in other expenses on the card (for a 12mo total spend of $80k) they would earn in a year:
22k AP from Chexy promo
100k AP from spend on the card
110k AP from the sign up bonus
Aeroplan 25k status from the spend if they didn't already have it, and 16,000 SQM towards higher status
This 232k points would be about enough for 2 round trips in business to Europe, in exchange for a $599 credit card, and $1050 in Chexy fees. Even after the promos fade, they would be sustainable earning ~80k AP points a year (mean redemption of $1600) for $1050 in business spending, meanwhile if they wanted to use that $1050 for travel theyd be left with ~$500 after taxes.
Our Take
Chexy was already one of a short list of top sustainable techniques for earning points. We've partnered to create a program that adds a stack of bonus points and gets you in line for even more features and opportunities. If you're a physician or doctor who hasn't already signed up, now is the time, sign up here to get into the program. CMPA is just one of many set it and forget it point generators that can turn business expenses into business class travel. Whether you set it and forget it, letting it chug along filling up your point totals, or strategically rotate cards to earn the latest sign up bonuses without ever having to sweat spending enough.
